They're not having a good year for sure. Montero has had more false dawns than I can remember. Barrow flatters to deceive and shows no sign of living up to the hype. Routs' end product has finally given up trying to work with him and Dyer must have eaten Bob's dog.
Maybe that's the way of wingers, they'll always only flit in an out of games, but ours seem particularly bad right now. If we don't work as a team we just haven't got the individual quality to compete.

However, it was,and still is, plain to see that Premier League transfer fees have been inflated as a consequence of the tv deal. You had to be blind not to realise that it was going to happen. Average players are going for this much money. Our rivals in this league strengthened by spending these amounts in the summer. We were watching it happen all around us. HJ sat on his hands (something he also did the year before and got away with thanks to FG). These sides have improved and we have stagnated over 2/3 years and have been left with the "old guard". HJ eventually brought in a few cheap recruits who obviously are not good enough and we are now where we are. I still find it unbelievable that Dyer has a four year deal and has hardly kicked a ball for us in two years!!! | | | |

He'd be a decent sub. A useful player to throw on against tiring defenders when the game is stretched. When you think of the difference in all round game and approach compared to Ayew who he's effectively replaced, it tells you all you need to know about Huw's team building ability doesn't it. | | | |
