30 years ago I used to called in to Needs Pies in Port Talbot for a cup of tea on nights when he used to be making up all the pies for the deliveries later that day.

I just read that, and hadn't realised I was a mug for purchasing a pie blind. Does it apply to pasties as well as I went onto prefer pasties after watching so many pies being baked. | |

When I was a kid I lived around the corner from Wilfie Lewis' pies in the Sandfields. My aunt worked there for a while and I was often in there. Willy Wonka had nothing on Wilfie - fûcking ambrosia.

I would imagine that as there is a possibility of a Cornish Pasty being made by a baker speaking Cornish which would cause all sorts of upset go your traditional GOM.

Yes I worked in pie processing during my university vacation in 1978 and I've eaten pies and pasties since but not without feeling queasy if I remember some of the things I saw. But you can probably say that about all food you don't cook yourself, including what you are served in restaurants if the chef or waiting staff are bored. |  |

The meat that goes into these aforementioned pies and pasties is important.
It's got me thinking though, is Welsh lamb better than New Zealand lamb? Or is the fact the lamb bleats in two languages that some of the other lambs don't understand despite being born there hurt the cooking process? | | | |
