I've just had one on the phone, this one claiming to be from Norton. Looks like they're changing tack from "microsoft" .why on earth can't something be done about these obnoxious firms. What a way to earn a living knowing you work for scammers and are preying on the vulnerable. I shudder to think how many innocent souls are reeled in by those bast $$rd.

Watch out for Amazon emails that invite you to respond if you didn't order the item mentioned. You go to the page that offers you redress and they try to get your details in order to scam the living b'jesus out of you. Nearly fell for it myself.

Yes they also send official looking emails telling you to log in and change your password but you are redirected to a fictitious site where your details are logged. They then proceed to order goods using your details.

I never click on a link in emails. If for example Paypal mail me I g straight to the site and log in there. Most of the time it's just some phishing mail.

Can you give them a load of duff info on the phone, just to feck them up?

If I get a scammer on the phone, I say "No, I'm not Mr xxxx, can you just hang on while I go an get him?".

Then I just put the phone down off the hook and go off and do something else.

Yes you can, play along with them, they ask you to do certain tasks, I sat there for 40 mins pretending to do all those tasks, whilst watching tv. They stuck with it though, they had persistence, so I just cut it short in the end, when they asked "What is the code you have on the scene?" I just replied "It says "I'm glad I wasted your time. There is no code, do you think that I am going to fall for this b*llocks you shifty, conm...."" before being interrupted with the phone being hung up their end.

Time consuming but it does give a taste of their own medicine.

I asked the Microsoft scammer was the problem caused by the porn I was watching. He said yes probably.

I told him it was a great film and that I was watching his wife and mother being shagged by a group of gentlemen. He hung up on me.

A few seconds later the phone rang again. It was the first scammers boss who told me he was shagging my sister and that she was loving it! Cheeky bugger.

If I've got time I usually play around with them, like when they say "is this Mr *****" I say no "this is Mr F*ckalot or Mr Iitchyminge" and I get them to pronounce it until they catch on...then they call me all the mother f*ckers under the sun.

If I'm busy I just tell em to f*ck off using my best Pakistani accent, It mustn't insult them as they usually ring back about a week later.

They're trying to rob off the vulnerable and exploit the more naive of society, they're no better than the thieving gypos that go round ripping off the elderly and dumping their shite all over the place ........they're nothing but thieving f*ckers and deserve no credit other than being total c*nts.

I had one telling me I had a load of shares in National grid and he was from some BS company that had "found" them.
15 years ago I did but I cashed them in,all dividends and company reports then obviously stopped and I have not changed address since.
They have obviously got their hands on a share holder list from that time and contacting people who are not on it now,A lot will be taken in thinking I have had shares in this company in the past.

This is how these con artists work they know a small detail about you then tell you trying to get your trust.

I asked him what his/companies phone number was and I would ring him back,he just started getting angry and I put the phone down.

It's nice to think there are guys out their looking for my "lost" shares, but how did he know I had "lost"them
thinking of it now I should have told him I am aware of my ownership of them.

These days you have to be 100% on your guard from any phone call,if suspicious ask them their number and tell them you'll ring back, the majority of the time they will put the phone down if they do give a number then google that number 99% of the time it will return a scam alert.
