Things Trump is getting right. 15:19 - Jan 30 with 1419 viewsLohengrin

I've just watched Trump on the news receiving a warm response from the US version of the Federation for Small Businesses after outlining his plan to simplify the collection process for small business tax and slash reams of legislative red-tape. This off the back of his meeting with the United Steelworkers who had described it afterward as "the most productive meeting they had ever attended."

This is a revolution in politics. He's doing exactly what he said he would.

It's nice that the United Steelworkers have so readily forgiven him for his continued use of Chinese steel on his own construction projects.

Much the same as every item of clothing from his 'line' (snigger) has a 'made in China' label. Hard for him to pretend it doesn't when there are pics all over the Internet (including, rather hilariously I thought, his MAGA hats).

They were in a forgiving mood, Lisa. He's just announced plans that will secure and expand the industry for the next quarter century.

I can't help but contrast Trump's actions with those of Sajid Javid's rabbit-in-the headlights routine when he visited the Abbey Works during his tenure as Business Sec.

It is a shame he has gotten this ban of persons from the seven countries so horribly wrong. I'd imagine he would be beginning to turn many on the fence citizens towards him before that.

There'll be opportunities, Tom, I dare say, if there's a requirement for specialist grades or to make up any shortfall in tube production if the US plants are operating at optimum output.

As a businessman, he had no obligation to be altruistic. His responsibility was to make his company as successful as possible.

And due to the policies of the old administrations, that meant using foreign steel and labor was the better option. The USW should blame the politicians that made that the case.

What legislation is he cutting? Whilst SME owner always moan about regulation, real and perceived, a lot tends to be aimed at protecting workers or other things that the free market would abuse if given the chance. As usual the devil will be in the detail, and we certainly won't get a picture of that from the Trump PR machine.

Let's judge the old orange wiggy bastard after four years. We'll probably all be looking back (if we haven't snuffed it in a cold nuclear war) thinking he's done some things well and other things not so well just like any other president, then when President Hulk Hogan takes office we can all start to panic again.

The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

Has Trump authorised the assassination of the whole muslim populous through gas chambers filled with a lethal chemical?

We have around 17 million people, including influential politicians in this country.. 'ACTIVELY'.. I say 'ACTIVELY' attempting to overturn a democratic decision by the UK populous.

I remember how the Nazi rebellion started off.. it's weirdly similar to this.. in fact, the exact same.. it is the exact same.

a lot of brainwashing was involved an all.. and it's the exact same as what the 'anti-brexit' brigade are using as propaganda.

The European Union was going to slash the minimum wage within 5 years.
The European Union were about to raise taxes within 5 years.
The European Union were going to delay pension funds for 10 years within 5 years.
The European Union were about to do some pretty f*cked up sh*t.

The EU does not fund the United Kingdom either.. the United Kingdom funds the United Kingdom.

There are millions of UK citizens in the UK who earn under the 20k barrier.. if they would've stayed in the EU.. they would have no chance of stopping these quite frankly ludicrous sanctions the EU were about to put on the UK workforce.

Now that we possibly have the chance to avoid these sanctions.. even though it doesn't look like it with the current shambles.. at least we have a little hope of avoiding such sanctions.. but with the Tories in charge.. i'm not sure what the f*ck they're going to do.

But nobody seems to listen to me anyway.. jobs were going to be certainly lost in the EU, and jobs will potentially be lost outside the EU.

I'm not sure what people are worrying about.. because jobs were going to be lost anyway, and are still being cut now.. f*ck, jobs might even increase outside the EU.. If all the educated lot on degrees can f*ck off from the minimum wage jobs they hold.. which are apparently above their pay grade.

I read that a stupid amount of people with degrees and qualifications are in menial jobs.. 200k+ who have higher education earn under 20k a year.. an absolute baffling number.

Why don't they have ambition and f*ck off somewhere?

the world is going to end!

Largely bollox though. The EU doesn't set minimum wages and has no tax raising powers. Moves towards a social union have been talked about for nearly 20 years. Where we stand at the moment, there are no plans to force anything of the such onto the UK. But yes, we don't know what's going to happen to the job market after Brexit. Skip needs some love (and I guess a job?).

Again.. I talk about 'depth' and a superiority complex.. yet you all still won't listen to somebody who can dissect quantum mechanical theories.

It doesn't even enter your 'psyche' does it.

it literally does not 'ENTER'.. register it.. breathe it in, take your time.. it'll eventually get 'through'.

"Where we stand at the moment, there are no plans to force anything of the such onto the UK"

f*cking ell.. take the words 'no plans to'.. replace them with 'certain economic situations, that are happening now, and will continue to get worse in 5 years will'.. then remove 'of the such'.

So.. lesson one.

where we stand at the moment, there are certain economic situations, that are happening now, and will continue to get worse in 5 years will force anything onto the UK.

But you will not 'listen'.. and that's your downfall.. that's everyone's downfall.. they believe in mysterious concepts.

I should rephrase that.. they get 'brain washed' to believe these 'concepts' actually exist.

The awkward moment when a Welsh Club become the Champions of England.. shh The Swansea Way.. To upset the odds.

He hasn't done that well in business. He inherited an empire from his father and has been extremely mediocre in running it. Don't get me wrong, he hasn't wasted it but he hasn't exactly grown it at an impressive rate either.
