I agree with Perch. I was a big fan of Amat and wanted to see him have a long run of matches to show what he can do, but he's failed. Fernandez and Mawson will now be our regular pairing with another defender arriving in the summer so I don't see that he has any future with us. He seems to be a decent guy and we'll all wish him well but it's probably time for him to move on while he's still young. [Post edited 24 Feb 2017 20:50]

Maybe. The "one cultured, one rugged" approach has worked for us in the past and perhaps the club have decided that other areas are more worthy of upgrading.

Fernandez was probably the worst of the 4 under Bradley and Guidolin so I don't know why people just assume neither VdH or Amat would improve under Clement. | | | |

Agree. He should replace Amat or Van der Hoorn when they go. He'll be a solid back up. We should always be looking to improve and invest in the starting XI. If recent times haven't woken the board up to that, then nothing will. | | | |
