I'm pretty certain 'bon viveurs of the dinner party belt' would have no experience of defrosting a croissant from Lidl.

However, frozen pain aux raisins from M&S are perfectly acceptable.

Perch, what else do you buy fresh and then freeze?

I bet you have a nice double decker fridge/freezer combo with ice making facilities.

And a nice man in overalls that speaks little English but smiles whilst he wipes away the detritus of the day.

I actually prefer a squashy croissant as opposed to the flaky type. 15 seconds in the pippity ping is normally good enough for the warm up, then lashings of Lurpak.

Do what

Squashy means the conserve will run out of the pastry and on to ones fingers

Somebody out there must now

Does one cut the croissant before defrosting or after

Slice and butter them before freezing. Try it.

Nobody who works goes to lidl.

The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

Living in such close proximity to the famed 'Jam Butty Mines' why are you wasting your time on foreign, nancy- boy pastry, Perch?

1'm assuming you work.
Which means you've never been to Lidl.
In which case, how would you know? Or are you just looking down your nose?

Loh.

We re about 12 miles from Knotty Ash and a pain to get to with the traffic.

Crossing the river is always an issue;train, bus, car, even boat.

We tend to stay this side so I can look at my beautiful homeland from our bedroom

Don't WAITROSE offer a similar line? Or are you boycotting now that they expect you to buy before you help yourself to a coffee?
