What's harder? Getting pole position at silverstone or a 147 9 dart finish? |
Well anyone can have a go at the snooker and darts versions, but there's only about 3 or 4 folks out there have a possibility of the pole position. That's what makes formula one of little interest to me.
On top of that I reckon Hamilton and his mates are the only sport that outdoes the Premier League in terms of hundreds of column inches being generated by so little action.

I did a track day at Donnington a few years ago with Jamie Whitham
I was an advanced trained motor cyclists . Fair to say, it was a sobering experience .
I got to be a pillion with Jamie as a demonstration .

Of course it's a bloody sport. Try and race a car or bike on the limit at a racetrack and you'll appreciate it. Either that or go to a Grand Prix and you'll realise it's more than sitting in a car.
Formula one drivers are a damn sight fitter than most footballers. Jenson Button wins triathlons.
The G that they pull in corners now peak to the same as fighter jets.
That's without mentioning the technical side of the sport which is competitive and a huge industry.
Bizarre that people think that because you aren't running around kicking or throwing a pig's bladder around it isn't a sport. The car or bike in motor racing is like the dart/club/racket in other sports. I don't know what it is with football fans in particular...this board would have a meltdown if you could amalgamate rugby and f1 into one sport... [Post edited 15 Apr 2017 11:16]
