I just look at Parker, what I've seen is a ot of fights against utter unknowns or fourty somethings. Some questionable late blows when opponents down on one knee.
Admittedly didn't see entire fight, what I saw Ruiz clearly won that fight.
Hughie Fury fight fell away, of the options they kept Parker away from Tyson ( workout video recently came out, he loooked around 300lbs ), Deontay Wilder and Breazaele in favour of fighting Cojanu.
Wilder would have schooled him, way above the quality of any other fighter. Breazeale would have been an interesting fight to see how Parker compares to Joshua.
When I look at fights I tend to see what their floor is, what their ceiling is.
We know Joshua's floor is "world title contender", ceiling could on one of the all time greats. Parker it's more difficult to assess as his opponents have been poor or past it. I'd assess his floor as being incredibly minor title holder but what's his ceiling? I've seen nothing to indicate he could comfortably trouble the like of Klitschko, Joshua et al. Granted you can say that about most heavies... I suspect at best Parker will be a mid level heavy. |
Parker isnt massive. Decent skillset, but not sure hes World Class. Mind you, neither is that plum Wilder and he has a belt.
Only fights worth making now are Joshua, Fury and Wilder. If Fury can get his head together, id back him to clean the other two out. |  |

All heavyweights are chinney that's the nature of heavyweight boxing, anyway that was probably the best Heavyweight fight anywhere in the World for many a year, Klitschko looked like a middleweight out there tonight fantastic performance, but Joshua really earn't his corn and adulation, absolutely superb. |
Disagree to a point.
Lets compare say, the chin of David Price who falls over when he opens the window and the breeze hits his face, and that of Evander Holyfield who had an iron chin and was basically a blown-up cruiser.
Joshua will be sparked by a non-puncher at some point. No shame in that as Lennox Lewis was exactly the same. Joshua will always be in exciting fights because of that and his power. Great for fans and his bank manager. Box office worthy for sure. | |
