It's clear what Tebbit was referring to Saville's charity work. Sadly it's pretty obvious why he did a lot of that work. Plenty of children were badly let down - by Esther Rantzen who had heard the rumours but didn't push things because of Saville's power - ignoring her husband was director of programming at BBC1 at the time I do believe? Let down by the NHS staff who knew, who heard the rumours, who stated they advised children to pretend to be asleep to avoid being abused. But yeah, paedos are vermin regardless of political association. | |
