Two more wins, which would have been easily achievable during our bad patch under Clement, and we'd have finished in 8th place.
Three more defeats would have seen us relegated.
All in all a brilliant turnaround by all involved, since the Crystal Palace away game

Last year there were less than ten points between sixteenth and ninth. Ten points between seventeenth and tenth the year before. The amount of money available in the Premier League has led to a very standardised level of performance for many clubs.

There are six or seven big, wealthy teams who usually take up the European places. There are usually three or four poor teams down at the arse end, either newly promoted squads struggling or existing teams poorly managed (that was us this year). The remaining ten or so sides are all pretty much of a muchness in terms of squad depth and quality, and an inspirational manager or 1/2 quality signings can quite easily push a team from fifteenth to the top eight.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.
