We need to be strong on this one. Now isn't the time for Mawson and he must be convinced if that. The pressure and the doubtless reduced game time at a club like Spurs is not what he needs. He needs at least another two years with us for him to progress into a top 6 candidate imo. |  |

He's clearly got a lot of ambition and he will end up at one of the higher end clubs no doubt because he's hugely talented but he also seems to have a humbleness and sensible head on his shoulders which is unusual for a premier league footballer. We'll get at least one more season out of him. |  |

He's playing for the England U21s now and you don't do that sitting on anyone's bench. He needs to be a fixture in a team and that team is us. Keep him for a season then offer him a big wedge and captaincy and if he leaves then, at least we tried. |  | | |

Just my own opinion, but from what I've heard about Alfie, I don't see him leaving us (unless we were to get relegated) for at least 2 maybe 3 years.
Give him the armband within next 12-18 months and that could be easily even longer.
He's a switched on young lad who knows he has time on his side. 3, 4 or even 5 years with us would still leave him right in his prime for a big money move to a top 4 club.
Forget Stones, this lad has the chance if he's properly coached/managed to become one of,if not the best CB in Britain in a few years.... |  | | |
