Cardiff Option for Major Trauma Centre 07:13 - Jun 28 with 3096 viewsjohnlangy

I checked out the 'Labour WAG sh!T on the valleys again' thread, clicked on the link and scrolled down and found this.

I don't know enough about the finances of the COW project to comment to be honest but this one stinks. It's not a done deal yet but I think we can all see where this is going. The same way as neurology centralisation.

It's a scandal. If you voted Labour in the Assembly election read this and ask yourself why.

Apologies Mate. I have just started another thread. Made the standard mistake of searching on my posts only.
Mods. Apologies, can you merge?
As an aside it is a complete scandal. It is bad enough all Leisure and Government investment is in the Cardiff bubble but there is no exscuse for the health of the population of Wales suffering.
I await the response of our Welsh Labour Councillors and AMs

Indeed. There is a danger that this one will slip under the net again. A few voices of protest will be raised by clinicians in Morriston and W Wales whereas messers James and Hedges will do nothing. Surely they must have known how the study has been going on this and should have been running to the media in protest?
Also how will SWEP react now it is under the Cardiff umbrella and we only have the WOL site to respond?
The self congratulatory nonsense of Week In Week Out with Mohammed last night was bad enough but this one sickens me. A complete and utter scandal and the desertion of everyone in Wales outside of Cardiff who will now have 3 Trauma Centres within 20 miles. Swansea, West and Mid Wales however get completely ignored despite Swansea having the third best medical school in the UK.
When, if ever, will the powers that be realise that Health Services should never be centred in Cardiff as it geographically on the periphery of Wales and is well served by Bristol? My guess is never as long as Complacent Carwyn and his sheep are in power.

I suffer from a couple of neural issues, I have chiari malformia, and syringomyelia (include multiple brain lesions). Since the shift to Cardiff for neurology, I no longer see a related specialist in Morriston (where when I was first diagnosed, all my care was) so I have to split regular visits between Morriston (5 mins away) and Cardiff. I found the care in Morriston was far more personal than Cardiff, and had much less problems there.

A fairer Wales under a Welsh assembly was promised, and yet everything seen goes against that. F'ck the myopic, crooked Welsh assembly.

I've said it before and l'll say it again. The WAG was the worse thing that could have happened to Wales, The Welsh Development Agency was bad enough for looking after their own, but the WAG is far worse, Centralising the Welsh Government was never gonna end well for peeps living outside the "Capital".

Perhaps somebody can start one of those online petitions

"NHS service for the whole of Wales not just the Cardiff few"

Then get it on facebook and see what our MPs and AMs say.

WOL are covering it with 'Cardiff are set to beat Swansea. .....' headline. It is all about confrontation and keeping Swansea and the rest of Wales down in our 'national' media At least our Council leader is still championing our cause but it serms a lost one.

If you are really waiting for a response from local Welsh Labour Councillors and AMs don't hold your breath too long. As said in other threads about Carwyn & his flock, the outcome of this whole episode is totally predictable and was never really in any doubt.

This is yet another Welsh Government led disgrace & exactly what you wish for if you vote for Welsh Labour in any sort of election or bi-election in Swansea or west of Bridgend

We have got the Swansea Bay city deal & that should be enough for the next decade or two in their eyes. It's because Cardiff is the capital, innit?
