By the way a plug for a great guy, his restaurant is slightly out of the way of the main strip in Playa, but all food is home made, and tastes incredible. He serves basically as an off duty youth worker, helping the local kids stay in education and out of other less desirable pursuits, putting the restaurant funds back into this. If you go in and listen to some of his stories and passion for the work that he does , you won't regret it.

It is off the beaten path and about a 10 minute taxi away from the centre, but you won't get anything else that is anywhere near as local and genuine.
On the flip side, don't be afraid to give Coco Bongo a go either, it looks cheesy and corny , but it's genuinely loads of fun once it gets going (free bar helps) | |
