Corner / Set Piece Analysis
at 15:03 5 Apr 2019

After conceding 5 goals from indirect set pieces in 2 games against West Brom and Nottingham Forest, I did an in-depth analysis of set pieces, mainly corners looking at our success in the past with Clement's zonal system following our failures under Francesco Guidolin with man-marking.

Part 2:

Some of the stats include goals and shots from corners and how we compare with our opposition.

Real Betis Fans' Views on Jordi Amat
at 09:04 29 Apr 2018

Some interesting comments here from Real Betis fans on Jordi Amat. Sounds like he's made a few big mistakes, like he did on occasion for us, but is now a regular starter in a Betis defence who have kept 6 consecutive clean sheets and in 5th position in La Liga.

Should we offer him a new deal or look to sell this Summer, as his contract expires next year.

Analysis - Clement vs Carvalhal
at 00:51 22 Apr 2018

A detailed look into what Carvalhal has done to turn things around this season following a disastrous first half to the campaign under Paul Clement.

Plus a stats comparison comparing both Carvalhal and Clement's quick impact at the club.

Should he be given a new contract or do we need to learn from past mistakes and think it through thoroughly in the Summer? The player recruitment obviously has a huge impact too on how next season pans out for us.

Tactical match analysis of the 4-1 win against West Ham, great to see us playing and attacking through the middle and press high with energy, such a huge difference compared to Clement's dull tactics.

Match Analysis: Swansea City 3-1 Arsenal
at 21:39 2 Feb 2018

One of the most enjoyable analysis pieces I've done in a long time, a superb 3-1 win against Arsenal that could have been 4 or 5-1. Carvalhal has done wonders with this team in such little time, I'd guess that this was the highest distance we've covered in a game this season. Effort and desire throughout and together with a superb, balanced game plan, we were worthy winners.

Match Analysis: Watford 1-2 Swansea City

Finally match analysis worth writing again after 7 games where I gave up with it. Overall it was performance that wasn't much better or different than what we've been used to, but 3 subs all played their part in the late comeback. A look at Carvalhal's tactics, 442 formation and how he gave the players more licence to attack in the last 10-15 mins of the game.

Match Analysis: Swansea City 0-0 AFC Bournemouth

Tactical match analysis of Saturday's goalless draw against AFC Bournemouth. It was much better in terms of effort and desire, but the problems up top still remained as both sides were over-reliant in the flanks to get forward - with a lack of attacking play through the middle..

A worryingly, lacklustre performance at home against Leicester City where Paul Clement got it badly wrong in terms of team shape & game plan. Ineffective pressing and poor midfield shape played into Leicester's hands.

Tactical Match Analysis: Liverpool 2-3 Swansea City
at 22:01 25 Jan 2017

Detailed tactical analysis of last Saturday's memorable win away at Anfield, as Paul Clement implemented a perfect balanced game plan that the players executed to a tee.

We defended well as a team in a 451/4141 defensive shape, but we attacked and took our chances when they came. Tom Carroll and Martin Olsson added elements we've been missing, attacking width and Carroll's clever passing and attacking runs into the channels were impressive.

What impressed me the most though was our positional discipline and organisation, and how quickly Paul Clement has got us playing well, defending as a team - a far cry from the awful "tactics" on show when Bradley was here.

Part 1 can be found here - http://www.swansea.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=477700

Comments welcome as always, Part 2 will look more at the goals and our attacking play.
