Legal action
at 19:45 31 Aug 2019

Whilst on and off the field matters are separate to some extent, do we really want to drag the club through the courts and create the impression of disharmony. Sometimes in life you just have to take things on the chin and move on. I see the only winners of this action to be the lawyers and a media who would be more than delighted to stick the knife in. Let’s keep the positivity of a great start to the season and build on the momentum of our new management and eager squad involving many products of the investment in our academy. Several key decisions including the appointments of chairman, manager and transfer team are looking spot on and we have managed to move on some of the right players and get decent value for others we would have wanted to keep. C’mon you Whites!

Looking ahead
at 20:02 12 May 2018

Well what a clusterf... of a last 3-4 seasons. Decision making and decision making process has been woeful, especially on recruitment. A lot of fans blame not spending enough money but it has been far more to do with how we have spent it. Our ratio of spend on wages to turnover is far too high. This has not only reduced the quality of our squad and our football, but it has left us with an overpaid and, to a degree, unsailable group.
Like all of us, I agree with King Curt, that it has felt like a death in the family. After a few days reflection this is clearly an overstated emotion. Talking to other fans I am now looking forward to next season.
I understand the anger and fully agree that it is time for HJ to go. Whilst the Yanks have presided over this it is in their, and their fellow backers interests to make the right decisions going forward.
We need a much clearer vision of what we want to achieve and how best to do this. We need to cut our losses on mediocre deadwood and look for younger, hungrier players, preferably with some of them local.
As fans we should tolerate a lack of instant success if we can see that we are rebuilding a football an identity.

STID.

Don't want to ban anyone, but unless I have missed it, it would have been good to see some humble pie eating after some of his comments prior to The Foxes fixture. Whilst I'm a realist, I'm glad he's not in my team as I wouldn't fancy his effect on morale.

Long interview with BB 7pm tonight. Ultimately down to what happens on the pitch, but he is an excellent communicator and even Chris Sutton warmed to him. I am still very worried but maybe, just maybe he can get us out of this mess. Worth a listen.

Expect pelters

Thoroughly share the pessimism after last night, still believing that it might have been a game we could win beforehand. Missing out on Joe Allen was our biggest transfer mistake. Yes, we miss Ash and Ayew but they wanted out and we had reasonable money. I was completely against the takeover and feared the current situation and like many I didn't agree with sacking FG or how it was done, but that is not BBs fault.
However bad things are at the moment, none of us help the cause by public criticism of all and sundry, especially individual younger players. Up to date The Liberty has largely kept behind the team. There is a long long way to go and there are certainly several teams above us who are capable of long runs without wins.
Creating a toxic atmosphere like Villa did only increases the chance of relegation. Albeit only 1 point to show but we competed against Citeh, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea. If we can show that fight in all our games we will pick up points.
We can either just give up or do the best we can with what we have now and then see if we can add a solid midfielder, another winger and a full back in January.
I'm not ready for Championship football any time soon.

Pitch

Cycled past the stadium today and the pitch where KOL had their stage looks a mess. Not long til the new season begins. The rest of the surface looks fine. Does anyone know how this will be sorted?

Atmosphere

That might have been a poor game at Palace, but oh for an atmosphere like that at The Liberty. Much more like games against Forest, Leeds, Yeovil, Scumdiff in League Cup at the Liberty, but far more like the good old Vetch. We must have one of the most apathetic, premature pie eating and early leaving fans in the league.
Let's make the most of what we have, get behind the lads and stuff the Geordies tomorrow night.

Squad

Squad submitted. It includes Lita- has he been loned or let go or neither?
Still includes quite a few who will never seemingly make starting 11 or bench. Also how about J Meade -what's happened to him since signed?

Malmo away leg

Does anyone know which TV channels I might be able to see this on whilst in Europe on holiday? After going to the first leg on Thursday I don't want a family holiday to get in the way of watching the Swans getting to the next stage.
