BST changing tacts?
at 14:16 11 May 2015

Just reading the comments below - I just wonder whether BST are trying to lance the boil by getting rid of Karl first and then deal with the rest of the family later? Karl's departure alone would be a welcome one.

And as Blackpool start the search for a new manager, Blackpool Supporters’ Trust chairman Steve Rowland said it’s a change at the very top which supporters want.

“The resignation that Blackpool Football Club really needs is that of club chairman Karl Oyston,” said the BST leader.

“It is his choices and decisions that dictate the footballing fortunes of the club.

New Statement from Blackpool
at 18:05 9 May 2015

Who makes these statements up?!

Blackpool Football Club shares the frustration and disappointment that has accompanied the 2014/15 season.

The club has spent seven of the last eight seasons in The Championship, having worked incredibly hard to end a 29-year wait for a return to the second division in English football.

The club respects Lee Clark’s decision and wishes him and Alan Thompson all the best for the future. Lee had the determination and character to take on a difficult challenge with the club already bottom of the table.

The task now will be for a new manager to rebuild the squad, as the club looks to recover from relegation in the best possible way and start life in League One strongly.

The club is now in the process of compiling a managerial shortlist and will provide further updates when necessary.

Anything you've achieved later on in life?
at 05:50 5 May 2015

Thinking about Stuart Bingham - anything you achieved a bit later in life? Brother had first kid at 46 and I did my first marathon at 44.

Stuart Bingham beat Shaun Murphy 18-15 in a gripping final at the Crucible to win his first World Championship.
Bingham began the final session with a 14-11 lead and won an epic 64-minute frame at 15-15 to close in on victory.
The 38-year-old made a break of 65 to go 17-15 in front and clinched the title with a brilliant 88.
Bingham, from Basildon, becomes the oldest snooker world champion since Welshman Ray Reardon won the title aged 45 in 1978.
He collected a winner's cheque for £300,000 and will rise from 10th to second in the world rankings.
"At one stage at 15-15 I thought I was going to do Shaun's [runner-up] speech," Bingham told BBC Sport. "It was a 64-minute frame to go 16-15 and that really calmed me down.

Orlandi's Column
at 14:49 4 May 2015

Strange he wasn't selected for the match and yet we only had six subs!!

The end. This is the best news of the season. No one could imagine it was going to be like this back in August. It didn’t take me long to realise how difficult it was going to be, but I never thought it would get that bad. It finished in a way which is very difficult to understand for someone who hasn’t lived the day to day life of the club. People who know the club well will understand and respect the indignation shown by our fans. No words are needed.

As I’m writing this, it’s Sunday afternoon, Chelsea has just won the Premiership and I am on my way home trying to make my dad understand what happened yesterday. Just after the second half of our game against Huddersfield started, the fans invaded the pitch. I was atonished, watching it from the stands because I wasn’t even selected for this game, but that is another matter. I saw old people, young people and kids running out on to the pitch which I don’t think that is the best way to end our season as this will not bring good memories to the young children and I feel responsible for this as I have been part of this team. I feel really sorry because, as I said a while ago, apart from being a professional player I love this game and I remember my childhood at the grounds of Barça, Espanyol, Europa… Football has always been part of my life and I can see the situation from both sides.

It is good that it was a peaceful demonstration and no one was hurt but this is the time for some people to reflect on what has happened. I have my own opinion and I hope you understand if I don’t speak freely right now, but it was a very sad Saturday in Blackpool’s history and I hope that marks a before and after and I hope next year is better. I wish that wholeheartedly because of the club and most importantly because of the fans.

We have just gone pass London on our way to the south, to the Eurotunnel. My dad is driving for a while (fingers crossed) and I’m just looking at the notes I had made to write this column. I haven’t needed a holiday this much for a long time. I want to completely switch off and put my thoughts in order. This has been the season in which I have slept the least, I have suffered the most and surely the one I have enjoyed the least. When I left Bloomfield on Saturday, I couldn’t help but looking at the fans and it hurted seeing my colleagues on the pitch trying to give them something to cheer for. I realised then that everything has been that bad that there isn’t any consolation for them.

That’s why, from the bottom of my heart, I want to thank the fans for the respect and love that I have felt. When you win it is easy to receive this but when you lose it is much harder and it even becomes embarrassing for us. It has been a full weekend. Our “party”, the boxing match that Mayweather won against Pacquiao (obviously my favourite was again the loser), the eight Barça goals in Córdoba (I watched the highlights at night and what a festival it was!), Chelsea’s title, Bornemouth’s Championship win (congratulations) and the Moto GP that, unfortunately I couldn’t watch this time. However, all of this is relative when you hear the news of Rio Ferdinand’s wife passing away. She was only 36, she had 3 kids and a whole life ahead of her. Cancer took her away, there is nothing worse in a family than having to go through something like this.

A couple of weeks ago a friend of a very good friend of mine also died in Barcelona from cancer. He also went through the same as Rio with his first wife who died of cancer age 35. I can’t even imagine the pain that they have to endure and I would like to send my wholehearted commiserations to Elena in Barcelona and to Rio and his family in London. I know their strength will help them get through this.

It’s hard to carry on writing after something like this. Life has to be enjoyed to the limit because you don’t know what is waiting for you…

I talked a bit about Chelsea earlier, but what made me happy watching the Premiership this weekend was the goals from Jordi Gómez and Leo Ulloa. Jordi scored the two goals that gave Sunderland a bit of a break and Leo scored two in Leicester’s game. Amazing. They have won 5 games in the last 6 and they have gone from nearly relegated to fighting to stay up. I hope both teams manage to stay in the premiership, albeit it is not going to be easy. Although if you look at Newcastle for example, you realise how complicated football is. 9 defeats in 10 games, the last 8 have been in a row. It’s hard to understand how a team like Newcastle have been on the verge of relegation for the last few seasons. Big congratulations to Bournemouth, who will play in the Premiership for the first time in their history and they will do it as Champions. They deserve it because they have played very well. Some people have compared them to Eibar but the Cherries were in the 4th division only 5 years ago!!!

I was really surprised however to see Derby out of the play-off. I would have put all my money on them at the beginning of the season as they were clear favourites. They only managed 2 out of the last 9 points and they had only themselves to blame for this. To lose the play off place in their last game, at home and against a team who had nothing to win, is really tough. I am sure they will try again next season. I remember how they knocked me out of the semi-finals last year with Brighton and how they lost the final with a last minute goal from Bobby Zamora. What a striker he is!

On Fridy the promotion play-offs start. I will follow it from Barcelona and I think next season the Championship will be an amazing competition yet again. I hope Blackpool will be absent for just one year.

I’m still on my way to the continent. I would like to send a big hug to every single one of you who has been reading my column over the last few months. Sometimes it has been hard to write, especially when we kept losing and losing but I have tried hard to fullfill my commitment to you.

I will write again over the next few months although not regularly. I truly need to switch off.
Time to drive on the right now, not an easy thing when you are driving a british car!

Big hugs for everyone!

These texts posted by the Tangerine Knights who seem on a mission!

The following is a list of texts from Karl Oystons phone and various Blackpool fans. Screenshots of all the texts have been seen to verify them and they are listed here as we have them.

----------------

Fan: Getting rid of Conor Hunt. Must be saving all of £250 a week. Genius.
Karl: Every penny counts!
Fan: Good to see the premiership money, Charlie Adam money, DJ Cambell money, Tom Ince money all reinvested on the squad. Pesky agents, eh!
Karl: You forgot the Mcgahey money!
Fan: Chicken feed to you, surely?
Karl: Every penny counts

Fan: So Riga isn't coming back. A marketing ploy to flog discount season tickets? Gonna have a lot of XXXXXXed off supporters come wolves
Karl: Worked well

Fan: Lucky for you we have a mixture of loyal & stupid supporters. I'm one of the peculiar ones who hasn't been a home game since our play-off failure season. Why should we part with our money and put it into the club when you refuse to do the same?

Karl: Stay away.

Fan: Don't worry. I will. More are clicking on to your ways every season. Sussed you out after you failed to back Holloway, two seasons running. Enjoy 4,000 bumspiders rattling around bloomers in league one next season.

Karl: I will thanks

Fan: Gary Rowett, now mark robins. No shame at all.

Karl: None.

Fan: Only won't sack Riga because you don't wanna part with compensation money. Just do everyone a favour, take the last parachute payment and go. Please. Nobody wants you here.

Karl: Compo 20k, wrong again but hey.

Fan: Segesta profiting well from the BFC slush fund. Supporters aren't think you know. Not asking for tens of millions to be spent. 4 million budget to build a squad still modest & would get 2 or 3 quality players in.

Karl: #cashcow

Fan: Lee Clark? Well, he's used to working for crooks I guess x

Karl: And cheap

Fan: Brucie bonus. Loved the pretending your signal had dipped out to avoid answering collymores question. classic.

Karl: Masterstroke eh.

Fan: Clark was qucik to believe you'd back him! What a fool.

Karl: I will. Fools are the ones that can't think for themselves.

Fan: I can think for myself, I think we're already relegated.

Karl: Clearly can't. Morose defeatist.

Fan: Oh because the majority think it we must be wrong? Is the earth not round either? I'm not a defeatist, I have not given up in the fight to get our club owned by someone who is willing to put football first.

Karl: You've lost that one already. Football First what utter crap.

Fan: Yes I didn't think they would be words you'd approve of.

Karl: Hardly earth shattering.

Fan: You not impressed? Sorry, should we increase the protests?

Karl: Do your very worst, think my worst will be far better.

Fan: Have you not already tried to inflict your worst on the club? We've not exactly got much left.

Karl: Not even started.

Fan: Why would you want to "do your worst" though? 9/10 for the pumpking, tangerine and even spelt correctly.. Shame you won't disappear after Halloween though!

Karl: I am a never ending nightmare revenge mission.

Fan: Never doubted it for a moment.

Great appointment in Clark! Really, well done. Another step close to desgtroying us. What's next on the list?

Karl: Too much to list

Fan: surely you have them in order? Not a very good plan otherwise.

Karl: Course I have and am ahead of schedule.

Fan: Estimated completion date?

Karl: Three years should do it.

Fan: Then will you leave?

Karl: Nope of course not, we will never leave ever.

Fan: But what will be the point in staying once you've completed the destruction of the club?

Karl: Property income.

Fan: Bet you're gutted Ranger got on tonight. Appearance fee.

Karl: Not for long though and it's pro rata so don't worry about me.

Fan: You binning him off, or finally selling up?

Karl: Selling to which imaginary purchaser?

Fan: You said "not for long" wishful thinking"! So, you offloading ranger then?

Karl: He wasn't on the pitch too long and appearance payments are pro rata! Do keep up!

Fan: Sorry not had my coffee yet. Been a busy morning. Only nine points adrift then. Operation league one well on track.

Karl: operation conference actually. silly billy.

Fan: With your transfer policy I see that being achieved within 4 years. Congratulations.

Karl: Thanks, your support means so much.

Fan: Genuine question. Why do you hate your own fans (customers) so much?

Karl: I don't waste my time hating anyone.

Fan: Why are you hell bent on runing the club then. Any decent player we sell on, money never reinvested on the squad. It's pretty obvious you're only interested in the commercial & property side of the club. That'll suffer the lower we sink through the divisions.

Karl: Wherever did you come up with that factless opinion from? Think where we were when I took over if you have the ability to think rationally.

Fan: Your dad bought the club for a pound. Promotion to the premier league would've easily covered the debts accumulated over the years in one foul swoop. No issue with you taking back the money you put in at all. If you spend even hald of what we received for transfers fans would be happy. Hardly seen a bean of the following: Charlie Adam, Matt Phillips, DJ Campbell, Tom Ince transfer fees. That's around £9m right there. Certainly not spent half of that on players in the last 3 years.

Karl: You condense sixteen years into a sentence, typical fan. Clueless and educated by the media or hereasay rather than fact or research. Don't waste anyore of your time as you appear incurable.

Fan: And you seem to think cos we made the top flight once spending no money (well, Belokon forked out £500k for Adam, YOU spent nothing) we can do it again? A fluke down to a once in a lifetime team and a great manager. And I'M incurable?

Karl: Did we not?

Fan: That will never happen again in modern football and you're beyond naive if you think that. Or just great at playing dumb as to use that as an excuse to invest as little as possible in the club.

Karl: Like I said you haven't the mental capacity to see anything objectively or park your pre-conceived inaccuracy.

Fan: Explain your long term plan for BFC then. Educate me.

Karl: Happy to go with your misery, we are doomed and there is nothing I will do about it. Ok? Fortunately I am in the enviable position of not having to explain myself to those that couldn't or wouldn't understand. Laters.

Fan: Any plans on the club buying Sir Stanley Matthews FA Cup winners medal?

Karl: None.

Fan: Why not? Much needed good pr

Karl: Good pr wasting money on a medal? You sure.

Fan: Arguably the crowning glory of our clubs history by our most famous player. A real prize asset in our trophy cabinet.

Karl: You buy it and I will display it then.

Fan: Sadly I'm not a multi millionaire or I gladly would.

Karl: Ok to tell others how to spend their money?

Fan: You'rte very touchy these days. Are you dreading May when everyone comes to "judge you?" Or is it cos cone head just cost you £30k cos of his ineptitude?

Karl: £15k!

Fan: That's ok then! FL probably took pity on our league position & decided no point docking points. Down before the Christmas lights.

Karl: Merry Christmas.

Fan: Someone is in need of a visit from 3 spirits!

Karl: Don't drink.

Fan: Love a line of coke though

Karl: Confusing me with another local chairman!

Fan: Guessing the club won't consider buying the Matthews fa cup medal?

Karl: Correct.

Fan: We can afford to waste £15k on not bothering to check if paperwork has been filed correctly, but won't buy a piece of the club's history?

Karl: No we won't and the two matters are unrelated. The Stoke fan "comedian" that bought it can stick with it.

Fan: They're not unrelated it shows once again how you're unwilling to invest in the club, but happy to waste money. Do you honestly believe the atmosphere amongst fans is better now Riga has gone, or was that just usual press rubbish?

Karl: The atmosphere in the club is what I said. All the staff hated Riga with good reason. You buy it if it means so much to you.

Fan: Because he was trying to keep the club up despite your best efforts? I'd love to, just like I'd love to buy the club, but sadly I don't have a millionaire for a dad.

Karl: He was trying to steal money on every deal with his spiv agent and you lot fell for his antics rather predictably.

Karl: Nope drugs are a scourge and I have never bothered with them and never will.

Fan: Can you not see your hilarious picture you took of the coke cans I sent? Or are you so stingy you still have a Nokia 3310?

Karl: I did it in response to some XXXXXXwit internet trol accusing me of taking drugs. Maybe you have had the standard football supporter humour bypass?

Fan: (first part of text missing) care where it has gone?

Karl: So letting manager and his idiot agent is ok? You are a Dick.

Fan: Thanks... Always so nice to the fans. Why are you trying to drive the club into the Conference?

Karl: To XXXXXX idiots like you off.

Fans: But what about all of the other fans?

Karl: Collateral damage?

Fan: (first part of text missing) buy a car and you are offered a bike. You say "No, I want the car because you need a car."

Karl: He was talking about 11 foreign players that he called his essential spine. Zenjov and Cubero were tow of them!! They all had illegal payments and backhanders involved to JR and his XXXXXXwit agent. Apart from the players being nondescript XXXXXXe they were not good enough!! You haven't a clue and sadly never will.

Fan: Graham Le Saux just criticised you on football focus, thoughts?

Karl: He is clueless.

Fan: In your defence he's never ran a football club and never comes across as an elitist snob.

Karl: I know our current plight does give people like that the opportunity to comment. Generally fans, players media and managers seem to support unsustainable spending on players wages and then criticise the ones that don't stay up or go up.

Fan: Riga was predictably boring. You got him well & truly gagged?

Karl: What can he say. he got caught with his hand in the till! He plays the media and fans well I will give him that but he is not honest.

Fan: What's gone in then, bar Swiss bank accounts and dodgy agent fees?

Karl: Is that not enough? He tried at every opportunity to steal with every deal. He signe a load of absolute XXXXXXe as he was too idle or crooked to do any checks. He attempted every trick in the book and got his just desert, sadly he has damaged us as well.

Fan: I actually agree with a large proportion of what you've said. My one criticism on your part is the reason we were left with "absolute XXXXXXe" as we left thigns late & were rummaging in the bargain bin, again

Karl: We were late because Riga staged a series of stand offs as part of a futile attempt to get me to do the dishnest deals. He point blank refused to consider and UK based players for over a month after he started.

Fan: So he basically lies on tv when he said he also mentioned several English players to you, but it was a question of wages?

Karl: You believe him by all means, I know what has gone on. He refused to meet Gilkes or McGahey when he arrived as he would only dicuss the 11 dodgy XXXXXXe foreign players. He mentioned English players well down the line!

Fan: Wasn't saying I did believe him. Just mentioned what he said on tv. Tbh I thought he was dodgy from the beginning. I wanted McDermott or Makay.

Karl: Brian is a good bloke not sure about Malky.

Fan: Malky dropped a few social faux pas, Good manager though?

Karl: Not sure he is.

Fan: If nothing else I'm impressed with Clark's work ethic.

Karl: he is a good bloke and does put the time in. So much better atmosphere around the place now.

Fan: Interesting to see how we do after the break. 3 average teams on the spin. Chris Eagles would be a fantastic signing.

Karl: He would be, hopefully can get that across the line and a defender as Clarke is out for a bit.

Fan: That's a shame. He gets unnecessary stick. Gives his all does Clarke. Heard O'Dea, Taylor, Faye & Mears all being looked at. All miles better than what we have.

Karl: Not sure about them other than O'Dea, We will end up having to get a few players in come what may.

Fan: Here's a legit question. Of Clark was interested in signing him would you sanction the signing of Ched Evans?

Karl: No I wouldn't.

Fan: This because of the nature of his crime, the fact he still denies it or just the unwanted negative press?

Karl: (first part of text missing) overspend and go bust so many times. I am not weak. No one has offered to buy the club. Is that difficult to comrehend?

Fan: Oh dear, calling fans "special needs". Bit of a blunder there! it wouldn't hurt to treat the fans with a bit of respect you know?

Karl: People that deserve respect get it.

Fan: Using word like "retard" as an insult to fans because you disagree with them. It's not that difficult to realise that's not a great idea!

Karl: Fans?

Fan: Yes, fans.

Karl: I called someone that threatened and insulted my family not fans.

Fan: Ah, so your family has had threats and insults? Yesterday you said there had been absolutely no hassle apart from a few chants & marches.

Karl: Via text by an idiot. That's not hassle.

Fan: but it was bad enough for you to call them a "retard"?

Karl: What's that got to do with you? I am neither answerable or accountable to you. Please don't text me again.

Fan: Ask me a question and then ask me not to text you?

Karl's indecisiveness this time last year
at 10:46 3 Jan 2015

In my mind everything went wrong from this point last year. As soon as we were knocked out of the FA Cup in that turgid game against Bolton (where they were actually worse than us) he should have got rid of Ince. We should have then cashed in on January bids for his son (Ince's not Karl) and got a manager in place ready for a January window and to prepare for the new season.

Instead he stuck with a dead duck and brought in an ever worse manager in Ferguson who almost got us relegated. Whilst the financial side of things sticks in the craw, Oyston's lack of leadership and decision making is why HE should go.
