Walk to Accrington - update
Walk to Accrington - update

It would appear even England internationals are queuing up to support the Walk to Accrington.

"The Dale Trust are delighted to announce that 63 supporters have completed application forms to walk to Accrington to raise money for the Bowlee project.

If all 63 can reach the target set by the Trust of £75, the Bowlee coffers will be swelled by nearly £5000.

The Trust also wish to place on record their thanks to supporter Rob Reed, who has stated that he will try and raise over £1000 on his own by collecting as many sponsors as he can.

The Trust are aiming to break records and make this the biggest ever sponsored walk in the club’s history. At the outset, The Trust set itself a target of 100 fans walking and we look to be well on the way to reaching that target.

The cause was given a further boost when Dale fan Steve Hartley (who will be walking) managed to attract sponsorship from Spurs and England star David Bentley.

Commenting on the scoop, Steve said, “I know David via a family connection and when David found out about the walk he was only too happy to support such a worthwhile cause, as he knows the Bowlee facility will not only benefit Dale’s first team, but will provide a facility for kids football, and ladies football. As a result he was happy to give us his support and dig deep which I thank him for.”

Any supporter considering whether to join in on this event can still apply before March 10th. Simply visit www.daletrust.org.uk and read the rules and regs, download the application form, and post it off or email the trust on info@daletrust.org.uk

Alternatively, you can call to the Trust Desk in the Dale Bar before the next home match (Rotherham on Tuesday) and fill in a form there. The Trust will then issue you with sponsorship forms.

Walkers are reminded that a bus has been booked to ferry home supporters after the match.
