Swans manager Roberto Martinez admits he is waiting to hear from Liverpool about Paul Anderson's future

Anderson spent all of last season on loan at Swansea and has already admitted that the Anfield side want to loan him out again this season although he does not know whether that will be to Swansea or not.

The Swans have always stated their desire to bring the player back to the Liberty Stadium for next season as they prepare for an assault on the Championship following promotion last season.

There have been rumours of interest in Anderson from both Charlton and Nottingham Forest but as yet there seems to have been no definite move to take the player there and one report even suggested a return to former club Hull although it was suggested that would depend on their failure in the play off final against Bristol City.

And while the rumours continue, Martinez is patiently waiting for an answer from his friend Rafa Beneitz at Liverpool and told the Evening Post "He is one that we really admire

"He is going to be improving his game and the Championship is a level that will offer that.

"Paul has got a great relationship with the fans at Swansea along with the players and management staff. But now Liverpool have got to make a decision.

"There is no doubt that Paul has a lot of interest in him. We fully understand the right challenge for Paul and it would be ideal for us to help develop him further at Swansea."

It had been suggested in some quarters that a permanent move to Swansea was on the cards following promotion but talk of this seems to have died down over the course of the past few weeks.
