John Hollins has to take a long ( but not too long ) and hard look at himself and ask the question " Can I do any more to save the side from relegation, or should I do the decent thing ? " If he answers in the positive, and genuinely believes he can keep Swansea up I see no reason why he shouldn't stay until the end of the season.

Of course, he is on a big wage, so maybe that's the reason why he is hanging on to his job ? Truth is, Mcclure won't sack him, it would mean that he would have to pay Hollins some form of compensation, and as we all know, Neil Mcclure likes his money too much for that. So the decision is not a hard one, it is one that John Hollins can make himself. Of course, it now seems that many have already signed his P45 for him and it's ta ta's already !

I will remind you of an interview I did on Radio Wales in October of 1999. I bluntly said that John Hollins was not the man for the job at Swansea. I believed that he was Steve Hamers mate, and would be dictated to by the clubs antiquated administration. I got a bit of stick for that and granted he went on to secure us a Championship, with tremendous effort from the players who hated hearing their manager being slated in such a way.

The protests of the time ( which were minimal, but visionary in hindsight !) galvanized the players, and look what was achieved ? Now of course those players are not in the side, Nick Cusack has strangely disappeared, nothing to do with the fact he is PFA players representative though I hasten to add. And of course involved in advising our many players who are currently about to or are out of contract by age or time.

That wouldn't of course mean he would be dropped from the side would it ? Advising players on what to say to the manager ? Just a thought, nothing more. Of course we don't really know, but speaking to many of the players, I can only speculate.

As these players are not allowed to talk to any media, including the internet sites, fanzines and even the local paper. All banned by John Hollins, we can only do that - speculate. Walter's still missing, his time clearly up at the club, Matt Bound seems to have lost a yard, maybe due to his omission from the side after daring to have an opinion, and the list goes on.

In fact as many of you know I am writing Roger Freestone's biography with Phil Sumbler, what excuse would be needed to drop our Roger eh ? Not that surely ? Well, not yet any way. That would be a fatal error, even for John Hollins. So going back to my original point, we do not have Bound ( all the time ) Cusack ( who is a battler if nothing else ) Martin Thomas ( in disagreement with the clubs new contract offer to him ) Steve Jones ( injured and also able to move on ) Jon Coates ( injured and capable of brilliance now and again but rarely ) and of course Walter Boyd.

Correct me if I'm wrong but these were the players that got us up last season, without them we are surely well in the mire ? And remember these are the players that John Hollins stated were " good enough " Are they not now ? Or is there a deeper problem ? I say again, we don't know because John Hollins has drawn a veil of secrecy at the club. Of course the way the fans are treated is disgusting too.

Remember my last error ? Stating that members of the Midlands Avon & Gloucester Swans would want to discuss the clubs problems ( during the natural course of events of sponsorship ) at the home game to Stoke City in October. They banned us, at the say so of Mike Lewis and Neil Mcclure, that's what they think of the fans. Genuine people with genuine opinions, not hooligans or idiots, intelligent Swansea fans. That's what frightened them, the fact that business people with more brain than any of them could muster, have the measure of them and have had the measure of them for the last three years of fables and tales.

I witnessed serious disorder at the UEFA tie, Inter Milan v Alves last Thursday night first hand, hundreds of ripped out seats and fans put at risk when the stand was set ablaze. All I can say to the pair of them is this - That is violence, That is disorder, All we wanted to do was talk.

It sums up my opinion of both of them, they never wanted to do anything of the sort, the easy solution was to ban decent fans. Well, all I can say to the pair of them is " Don't take your inept business techniques to Italy, you won't last five minutes " We were promised discussion last year, there was none. We were promised a proper membership scheme ( scam more like ) there was none.

Of course the stadium ( which will be started on March 28th 2001 ) if the council are to be believed ( yeah right, more lies ) is now merely a dream. But of course you have read that it is to be built have you not ?

And the local paper reported in November that building would start in March 2001. So - We are waiting ! During my research in to " Vetch Field Voices " I read an article from 1968, it spoke of a new stadium in Swansea. In 1982 Malcolm Struel never shut up about it even when nobody cared about the subject, and all the time it was rubbish. Doug Sharpe ( at Mark Aizlewoods own admission ) kept producing grand ground plans to all potential new players at the club in the late eighties and early nineties.

And now the latest Walter Mitty has been found out, but sadly at the expense of our divisional status ( it seems ) And the last time he was seen at Swansea the weather was warmer. It is sad I know, and I am not one to say " I told you so " - Too often. But please - the next time you see a big red nose in a suit floating around the club tell him, and anyone else drawn in by the patter of tales and fables.

It's not true, it never has been, and whilst there are schemers and scammers at Swansea City. It never will be. Yes there is an air of resignation about our club. And I for one hope John Hollins makes the right decision, for the sake of the clubs future, he needs to unfold his arms and for the first time in a long time make a decision.

I for one wouldn't mind if there was a spare seat on the coach to away matches after this week, and neither would the vast majority of fans who have seen and heard enough. Maybe that gives you a clue John ?
