Little Leon Knight was signed from Brighton & Hove Albion at the start of January 2006 for a bargain price of £125,000. He scored a hatrick in 27 minutes on his Swansea debut against MK Dons and ended the season with 12 goals for the Swans.
The 23 year old started his career at Chelsea and has also played for the England Under 17, 18, 19 & 20 sides, but only made one appearance for Chelsea - as a substitute for Gianfranco Zola in a UEFA Cup game against Levski Sofia in 2001! He then made a few loan moves before settling at Brighton.
The last time Knight played a full season at League One level he scored 26 goals for Brighton; Knight has bags of pace and a good eye for goal, sometimes he does look lazy and disinterested but his goals record speaks for itself. Let's hope he shows more of the same this coming season.
