West Brom are reported to be lining up a bid for midfielder Ferrie Bodde

The Premiership new boys - due at the Liberty on August 2 - are reported in the Birmingham Mail as being ready to made a bid to match Derby's for the midfielder who joined the Swans last season.

Derby has been quoted as the reported preferred destination for Bodde but the lure of the Premiership if it happens will surely be too good for the player to turn down ahead of a side that were a total flop at that level last season.

Bodde has been the subject of much transfer speculation over the course of the summer with Derby already having had two bids turned down for the player and having been reported as bidding up to the £2m  valuation that the Swans have slapped on the player.

The Swans, for their part, have played hardball over the deal and seem reluctant to budge on that valuation although the reports don't suggest how much the Baggies are prepared to pay.  There have been suggestions that the Swans reluctance to accept the Derby bid were fuelled by rumours of interest from other clubs - Reading and Sunderland have also been linked - and this could now prove to be the case.

The Baggies are known to have money to spend and a midfielder of the calibre of Ferrie could fit their bill.
