Swansea midfielder Jordi Gomez has revealed that he would love to stay at Swansea

The Espanyol man is on a season long loan at the Liberty Stadium and six goals - including one in the 3-0 victory over Southampton yesterday - has made him an instant hit with the Swans crowd.

Gomez was the toast of South West Wales for the winning goal against Cardiff a few weeks back and that is just some of the part he has played in getting Swans to the position of 7th place with a quarter of the season gone.

Espanyol have made no comment as to how they see Gomez' future but the midfielder said "I'm enjoying my time with Swansea because I'm in the first team.

"I'm very happy at Swansea.  I like the city, the people and the club.  If Espanyol tell me I'm not going to play there and if Roberto Martinez offers me a contract then I will stay at Swansea.

"The way Roberto wants us to play is nice.  I think we're the only team in the Championship that tries to play football."
