Will Mac ditch Diouf over "willy" storm?
Saturday, 27th Apr 2013 22:18

Brian McDermott was clearly not amused as El Hadji Diouf got himself sent off for making an obscene gesture in front of travelling Brighton fans. It was alledged that Diouf rubbed his genetials in view of the visiting fans having put Leeds level.

The Leeds boss pulled no punches post-match “What he did is not clever. He has got to learn because he is going to miss three games now. He is really upset but he has to be accountable for his actions. These things are dotted around his career. He can be a match-winner and I’ve told him he has to let his football do the talking.

“If you run 50 yards and make a gesture, that is not a heat of the moment thing. I believe 100 per cent he can learn from this - he has to."

The question will be now, will McDermott decide that Diouf's behaviour could seriously hinder his plans for next season? McDermott will be without Diouf for the trip to Watford and our opening two matches of the 2013/14 season.

Despite joining Leeds last August with a horrendous reputation both on and off the pitch, the Senegalese striker won over his doubters and earned a six month deal which was later extended by another 18months.

However a fortnight ago, Diouf hit the headlines when the Sun newspaper claimed he had twice cheated on his wife with a stripper and an East European girl in Leeds.

It seems that his exemplary behaviour is in tatters and he needs to clean his act up fast or we might realise that we can do without him!

McDermott however was more sympathetic towards Rudy Austin, who was red-carded after just ten minutes following an off the ball incident with Brighton's Ashley Barnes.

“Austin just bumped into their player so no way was it a sending-off offence and we will appeal against it.”
