Pablo Thanks Fans For Support
Monday, 28th Apr 2014 02:48

Pablo Hernandez was on the scoresheet again for the Swans in their 4-1 win over Aston Villa at the Liberty - a win that secured their Premier League safety for another season.

Pablo's goal in the second half gave the Swans the breathing space that they so badly needed and helped them on the way to back to back victories in the league for the first time in 17 months.

And Pablo paid tribute to the Swans support after the game playing up the importance of their vocal support not just on Saturday but last weekend against Newcastle as well.

“It was a very important victory for us,” said the Spanish midfielder. “In the last two games, we have won six important points.

“Today, we wanted this win for the Swansea supporters to help us stay in the Premier League.

“The fans are very important for us. Newcastle was probably the most important game of the season for us, and the fans’ support in Newcastle and today was unbelievable.

“I want to say thanks to them for all of their support because it has been very important for the team and the club."

It has been another stop start season for Hernandez in his second season at the Liberty but under Monk he has a place in the side in the role behind the lone striker and he has put in some of his better performances in this role since the change of management.

There have been rumours though of him being unsettled over the change in management and it remains to be seen whether he will stay at the club for another season although we have to say that we would like to see him here for certain.

“And I am happy to get a goal to help the team." Pablo added "But the goal is not the most important thing to me. The most important thing for me is to work 100 per cent for the team and to help the team win the game.

“Today is a great day for everyone - for the players, the club and the fans.”
