There that makes it easier and less hassle than reading a different news article every day so now you have it Ashley Williams has been linked with all the clubs in the Premier League.

From Arsenal to West Ham and everyone in between, he has now officially been linked with a move that will cost the buying club anywhere between £3m and £5m dependent on the time of the week and the closeness to Michael Chopra's Twitter account.

Sunderland are today's main link in the press and this follows close on the heels of Arsenal, Hull and QPR which means by the 22nd June all the clubs will have been linked and that even gives the papers a couple of days off just in case something interesting happens at the World Cup.

I said it last week and I still believe it now that Ash will sign a new contract at the Liberty within the next few weeks and my belief on that front does not change. It could be a wrong belief but I still think at the moment it is the most likely scenario for a player who has risen to be captain of both club and country in his time here in Swansea.

As Monk said earlier in the week "I have spoken to Ash and he wants to be here.

"He knows my feelings about him too, so I am optimistic that we will get something sorted.

"We are in negotiations now about a new contract.

"We are talking to his representatives and we want to get Ash tied down."

This is actually one of those occasions when we should not play down the importance to Ash of having his friend and former defensive partner in charge and that I think will be a factor which could sway the decision in our favour.

It is always interesting that the stories that link Ash with a move are always without any form of quote from even 'a club insider' or a 'source close to the player' which makes me think they are nothing more than the usual agent talk designed to try and squeeze a few more £ out of the Swans for a new contract.

Today's Sunderland link will be tomorrow's fish and chip wrappers (are you still allowed to wrap fish and chips in newspaper?) and the link will be another club where Ash is almost certain to never end up you can almost guarantee it.
