Carroll - That Was An Opportunity To Impress
Wednesday, 27th Aug 2014 12:16 by Planet Swans (follow us on Twitter @swansnews)

Tom Carroll was another one who made his debut for the Swans yesterday in the 1-0 Capital One Cup win over Rotherham and he hopes he has done enough to convince manager Garry Monk to give him a chance in the Premier League.

Carroll signed on loan from Spurs at the back end of last week and will be here for the duration of the season and clearly he believes that he fits into the Swansea style of play.

Labelled by some as 'the new Modric' Carroll's methods of playing do tie in with the way the Swans like to play the game and for those that saw him last night the feedback is that he fitted in well and therefore he could get his chance in the Premier League.

The midfield area is one area where it has been identified that we need strengthening and the signing of Carroll was designed to do just that and he will have moved himself into contention of at least being in the squad for Saturday giving the Swans an option in midfield that was sadly lacking in last weeks win over Burnley.

"It's a good opportunity to impress and hopefully I can show the manager a bit more of what I can do." Carroll told SwansTV after the game

"Every player wants to play in the Premier League and the team are flying at the minute."

Last night's win was the third in succession for the Swans and they will look to make that four on Saturday as they go in search as well of a fourth successive Premier League victory.
