Routs Misses Out On Goal Award

Wayne Routledge missed out on the BBC Goal of the month competition after his spectacular strike against West Brom at the Liberty.

Routledge's goal was the Swans second in their 3-0 win over the Baggies last month in a game where they stretched their unbeaten run for the season to four wins and they briefly topped the Premier League table as a result of it.

The wide man hit a perfect first time volley when the ball dropped to him at the edge of the area and his finish was perfect giving Ben Foster in the opposition goal no chance.

It was one of six goals nominated by BBC Match Of the Day to be their goal of the month but ended up with just 14% of the votes cast with the winner - Andre Schurrie for Chelsea against Burnley coming in with 25% of the votes cast.

There was nothing really to choose though between 2nd place and 6th place which was where Routledge ended with just 4% separating those five goals.
