Ki Happy With Swans Return

Ki Sung-Yeung made his return to the Swans line up in yesterday's 1-1 draw with Sunderland at the Liberty, scoring the equaliser in the second half to cancel out the first half opener from Jermaine Defoe.

Ki dived to head home a perfect cross from Kyle Naughton to cap an impressive return to the team after spending the last month captaining his country to the Asian Cup final where they lost out to Australia.

Ki also had a goal disallowed in the first half as he showed just how badly he has been missed by the Swans and he is certainly a leading contender for a player of the year award when the gongs are handed out at the end of the season.

He completed 51 of the 56 passes that he made during the game and showed enough signs during the game of striking up an impressive partnership with Jack Cork who was making his Swans debut.

“I was desperate to come back to Swansea after the end of the competition,” said Ki.

“I’m a little tired, but I didn’t want to show anyone that as I was determined to give everything I could and help this team climb the table.

“I don’t score many headers, but I managed to get forward more today and that allowed me to be in the right positions to get a goal.

“It was a very good cross from Kyle and it was great goal for me to score.

"I was a little disappointed we didn’t get three points as we were in control and created a lot of chances.”
