Ash Praises New Signings

Ashley Williams was full of praise for two Swans home debutants yesterday as he watched his side come from behind to gain a deserved point against Sunderland thanks to Ki Sung-Yeung's second half header.

And it was a cross from one of those players - Kyle Naughton - which led to the South Korean's equaliser as he capped an impressive performance following on from his full debut for the club in last weekend's win at Southampton.

And Naughton also showed his flexibility in the side when he swapped sides immediately following that goal to finish the game at left back which in itself seemed to give the Swans more attacking options going forward.

There was also a full debut for Jack Cork in the centre of the Swans midfield and he also contributed well to a stronger Swans performance where we can consider ourselves unlucky not to get the win that we probably deserved.

“I thought Jack Cork came in today and had a really solid debut, while Kyle (Naughton) set up the goal on his first home game. I felt the new boys did really well and worked hard.

“It will take a bit of time to get used to how we play and our style, but since coming in, they’ve settled in really well.

“As a team, we want to push on now and see how far we can go. We dropped off a little bit after Christmas, so we are working hard to get back to the standards we set ourselves.”
