Carroll Heading To Aston Villa?

If the Swans had any ambition of bringing Tom Carroll back to the Liberty Stadium then it looks as if it would have to be on a permanent basis with Aston Villa lining up just that if the reports in the Daily Mirror are to be believed.

Carroll spent last season on loan at the Swans and put in some accomplished performances that probably defied his young age as we helped ourselves to the results that eventually saw us end the season in a record breaking 8th position.

But there has been no murmurs at all from the Swans about bringing back the young midfielder which may well just be because of the array of talent we already have with the likes of Jack Cork, Jonjo Shelvey and Ki and that is just for starters.

So it looks like it will be a different home for Carroll next season and Aston Villa - managed by former Spurs boss Tim Sherwood - are reported to be interested in taking him alongside his team mates Andros Townsend and Emmanuel Adebayor.

Townsend has also been linked with a move to Swansea but that one seems equally unlikely due to the amount of wide men we have at the club whilst Adebayor is the man that Sherwood sees as the perfect replacement for the departing Christian Benteke.

Carroll's pass accuracy for the Swans last season was 88% but it does seem that it will end up as the sum total of his stats for the Swans with a move elsewhere far more likely - whether it is to Villa remains to be seen
