Everton After Ash As Crystal Palace Interest Cools?

There are some interesting twists and turns left in this transfer window for sure and whilst it appears that the Swans have probably completed most of their business there could well still be interest from other clubs in our players.

As the reports over the past few weeks have suggested, Crystal Palace have been keen on a move for Swans captain Ashley Williams but it appears that the interest there may have cooled after being supposedly warned off by the Swans about a move for the player.

Today's papers report that they are now looking the possibility of taking Newcastle defender Fabricio Coloccini to Selhurst Park. Palace are, of course, managed by former Magpies boss Alan Pardew and he is keen on his former defender as he thinks that a move for Williams is unlikely to succeed.

However, speculation does not die down on Williams and it is Everton - managed by former Swans manager Roberto Martinez who are now being linked should John Stones move to Chelsea as being widely speculated.

Williams is said to be seen as the perfect replacement by Martinez and a move there could materialise if Stones does move. Chelsea have been criticised by Martinez for their interest in his defender but there is still a strong chance that he could move on.

My view on this remains the same in that Williams should stay at Swansea and we should do everything that we can to keep hold of him particularly with the new season just two weeks away. I am sure that a move to Everton is more appealing than one to Palace but with Wales still on the verge of a major championship finals next summer then for me it makes more sense that Williams remains here this season?

Time will tell but as we said at the front there are always twists and turns.
