It was a busy pre-season fixture list on Tuesday night with eight of our Premier League rivals in action, we have news in the first of a two part round up of wins for Everton, Leicester and West Brom but it's just a draw for Aston Villa

Dundee 0 Everton 2

Everton won the second game of their mini tour of Scotland thanks to goals from Conor McAleny and Ross Barkley.

The only worry for the visitors was the sight of Romelu Lukaku making an early exit with what looked like a hamstring injury.

McAleny slotted home inside two minutes with Barkley then adding a second after the break, converting a penalty after he was tripped in the box.

Roberto Martinez on new signing Tom Cleverley: “It is that combination of having good youth and experience. Tom showed he can be a leader.

“He has fitted in really well in the dressing room and and it is a fantastic example for any youngster to look up to an England international with his best years ahead of him."

Burton 1 Leicester 2

A double from striker Jamie Vardy saw Leicester City record a deserved pre-season friendly victory over Burton Albion at the Pirelli Stadium on Tuesday evening.

Vardy opened the scoring 11 minutes after the break and added a second seven minutes later with a well-weighted header that dipped over oncoming substitute goalkeeper Dean Lyness.

Mark Duffy replied for the home team.

Claudio Ranieri: “The game was very good because it was against a team that were better than the last two we faced

“We worked very hard for 90 minutes. That is good for our stamina.

“Tonight we made some good action but also we conceded some good chances, which isn’t good for us."

Walsall 0 West Brom 2

SAIDO Berahino and Brown Ideye scored second-half goals to give Albion a victory in the friendly against Black Country neighbours Walsall.

Both players netted from close range following well-executed moves down Albion's left-hand side in what was a strong work out against a determined Saddlers side.

Wolves 2 Aston Villa 2

Libor Kozak continued his impressive pre-season form, scoring twice in an entertaining clash against Wolves.

Kozak gave Villa the lead on two occasions only for the visitors to be pegged back by goals from Dave Edwards and Benik Afobe.

Andre Ayew's brother Jordan made his debut for Villa in the game
