Nathan Declares His Future Is At Swansea

At the start of the summer you would have possibly predicted that both Nathan Dyer and Leon Britton could be on their way out of Swansea this season with many predicting that their time at Swansea was coming to an end.

And there was clear speculation on both of them linking them with moves away as the Swans strengthened in the wide positions on top of what was already a very strong midfield.

Leon was linked with a move away from this country where there were reports of interest elsewhere in the Premier League for Dyer.

Both players played in the Capital One Cup win over York in midweek with Leon named as captain just a week after confirming that he was staying at Swansea and that he did not want to leave.

Dyer scored the first Swans goal after just two minutes on Tuesday night and he has now joined Britton in committing his future to Swansea

“Yes, I am a Swansea player,” he declared.

“This is my club, I have been here since we were in the Championship so I am not going to give up.

“I am the same player and person as last season when I started so well.

“Nothing has changed in a year and I want to get in the side. I love the club and want to keep playing here.

“There are a handful of players who have been here from the start, and it is hard to take (when you are not playing).

“There are guys like Leon who still have roles to play but are not playing at the moment.

"“That is football, the gaffer has tough decisions to make and you have to keep your head down and keep pushing.”
