Michu Still Not Part Of Monk Plans

It is starting to look increasingly likely that Michu could well remain a Swans player past the transfer window although he will not be part of the Swans plans and will seemingly sit around doing nothing seeing out his contract.

All I can really say to that is what a waste of what was a brilliant talent when you think back to his first season and a half here at which point we probably could have got upwards of £15m for him had we been looking to sell.

But now it is coming to the point where nobody wants to take him on the terms that he is on at Swansea and we don't seem to be able to come to an agreement to make him a free agent to try and negate that issue.

You have to question somewhere the logic of the player and the agent as a player not playing is a player with no career and knowing that he has done it in the Premier League and also been capped for his country it just seems so pointless that they have allowed it to get to this stage.

The Swans are keen to move the player on as soon as possible and Monk confirmed today at his press conference the current situation on the problem that has become Michu

"Michu made his decision last season to try to go on and further his career elsewhere.

"Whether the window closes, it's an ongoing situation where we're trying to find the right solution for him because we want the best solution for him. We're very thankful for what he's done for us.

"But we've moved on now. The squad's moved on so it's about finding the right solution for him and for the club.

"Hopefully we can sort something out between ourselves and his representatives. It's about working together.

"We have a good relationship. Everything's done in a positive way. It's about finding the right solution for both parties."
