Williams On Swans Incredible Start

Ashley Williams late tackle on Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney was one of the final acts of the match yesterday and ensured that the Swans secured their third consecutive victory over their visitors.

It looked for all the world as if Rooney was about to break his Premier League drought but Williams made a last gasp tackle and the rest, as they say, is history as the Swans won a game that lifted them into fourth place in the Premier League.

It also meant that the Swans went into the first international break of the season with their unbeaten record intact just one of three sides in the division to achieve that.

And having gained a point at Champions Chelsea on the opening day, the Swans have gained eight points from their four games and go into the break in the Champions League places in the division and with confidence at an almost full time high in the camp.

Skipper Williams will join up with his Wales team mates now knowing that two wins will secure them a place in next summer's European Championship finals in France and it is therefore no wonder that he is a very happy man at the moment

“We are unbeaten in four games and that’s an unbelievable start, but the right noises are coming from the changing room — we want to keep progressing,” said the Swans skipper.

“We are very happy to have beaten such a great club — one of the biggest in the world — three times in a row. We understand the magnitude of those victories.

“We had to dig very deep and they are a better team than last year, but so are we.
“This was probably our worst performance (of the season) but that is more pleasing in a way because we beat a very good side by showing a lot of heart. ".99
