Shelvey Praise For Swans Duo
Monday, 31st Aug 2015 12:36 by Planet Swans (follow us on Twitter @swansnews)

A third consecutive win over Manchester United was secured thanks to goals from Andre Ayew and Bafetimbi Gomis, the third time that both players have been on target in our four Premier League games to date.

Indeed it was only the width of a post stopped that being all four games as Ayew hit the woodwork with a great header at Sunderland.

The Swans have seven goals in the league this season, four for Gomis and three for Ayew who are fast becoming the hottest pairing in the Premier League and a big reason why we currently sit in the top four of the Premier League.

Ayew scored the Swans first goal yesterday with a header from a great cross from Sigurdsson whilst five minutes later he turned provider for Gomis to keep his run going of scoring in every league game this season.

It is little wonder why these two are getting so much praise at this point in time and Shelvey is joining an ever growing line of people who are admirers

“Andre has given 100 per cent since arriving here. He looks like a player who has been playing in the Premier League for years" said Shelvey, who got his England call up last night

“Gomis is on fire at the minute. Any chance he gets he is taking and the bonus is he creates his own chances as well — hopefully he can keep putting them away and we will keep climbing the table.

“It really is onwards and upwards to build on what we achieved last season

“We have proven we can beat anyone in the first four games — we were unlucky not to get three points against Sunderland and could have beaten Chelsea.

“We have a very strong team unit. We do lots on and off the pitch, we have a great team spirit and it is just a matter of working on it day in day out.”
