Two More Clubs Linked With Gomis
Monday, 31st Aug 2015 14:14 by Planet Swans (follow us on Twitter @swansnews)

Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur are the latest two clubs to be linked with a move for Swansea striker Bafetimbi Gomis as the papers continue their pointless links with players who are going nowhere, just one more day until the transfer window.

Today's report comes from the ever reliable Sun who believe that both Villa and Spurs are keen to trigger a £7m release clause that it has been reported before exits in Gomis' contract.

Wales Online journalist Chris Wathan suggested yesterday that the clause would only allow the player to talk to potential interested parties rather than move but either way there is just no way that the Swans would consider doing business at this stage of the window.

The papers can link Gomis to as many moves as they want over the next 24 hours but Monk has said that his squad now is the one that he is taking forward and given the start that we have had to the season why the hell would we even think about letting the player go and weaken us with no real chance to get a replacement in.

We can safely file this one around a desperate need to make some column inches work and lazy journalism at its best.
