Gylfi And Iceland Qualify For France Sunday, 6th Sep 2015 21:42 by Planet Swans (follow us on Twitter @swansnews) Gylfi Sigurdsson will grace the European Championship finals in France next summer after a 0-0 draw at home to Kazhakstan ensured their qualification alongside the Czech Republic from Group A. Qualification was made easier after Holland went down to a comprehensive 3-0 defeat in Turkey earlier today leaving Iceland just needing a point to be mathematically sure of something that was all but guaranteed bar a four goal defeat to Turkey. Iceland have won 6 and drawn 1 of their 8 qualifiers to date and the two sides in the group join England as the only qualifiers to date from the group stages of the competition. Aron Gunnarsson was shown the red card with two minutes to go but the work had been done by then with Gylfi playing the full 90 minutes as Iceland dominated. Our congratulations go out to Gylfi Sigurdsson and his international team mates on their qualification Photo: Action Images Please report offensive, libellous or inappropriate posts by using the links provided.
