Two More Swans In International Action

Two more Swans were involved in international action yesterday as Eder and Lukasz Fabianski both represented their countries in wins that keeps them on track for a place in France next summer.

Eder had to make do for an appearance from the bench after 76 minutes as Portugal were nearly held to a draw by Albania but were thankful to a late header from Miguel Veloso.

The result leaves Portugal three points clear of Denmark at the top of the group and just a win away from qualification.

It was though much easier as you would expect for Poland who kept hold of their second place in their group with an 8-1 thrashing of Gibraltar.

It was only the second time Gibraltar had found the net in this qualifying campaign and leaves them second in the group, two points behind German and two ahead of the Republic of Ireland.

Poland will qualify if they beat Ireland in what now looks to be the crunch match in the group next month.

Two more goals for Robert Lewandowski took his Group D tally to ten as Poland showed no mercy against Gibraltar to stay two points off leaders Germany at the top of their UEFA EURO 2016 qualifying section.

Kamil Grosicki and Arkadiusz Milik matched Lewandowski's double as the hosts proved far too good for a team they beat 7-0 on matchday one. The result keeps Adam Nawalka's men in touch with the world champions and maintains a two-point cushion over the Republic of Ireland, while there was consolation for the visitors who registered their second ever competitive goal through Jake Gosling.
