Arsenal Defeat Could Benefit The Swans

I am not sure that too many people last night expected Arsenal to lose their second consecutive Champions League game when they were playing Olympiakos at the Emirates but that defeat could well benefit the Swans in a month's time.

The Swans clash against the Gunners at the Liberty comes just four days before a massive clash now for Arsenal that is the second of their double header against Bayern Munich.

Given their poor start to the group then they need you would expect at least four points from those games to qualify which gives them a different focus that could well be outside the Premier League when they visit the Liberty.

The wrong result in the home clash with Munich and it could be a different picture but the Swans have the capability of capitalising on anything that distracts Arsenal and recording a third consecutive victory over them to match the three we already have over Manchester United.

It is difficult to predict exactly what the impact will be four weeks in advance but we could see Arsene Wenger resting players ahead of what he will see as a bigger clash than a league game in Swansea.

Whatever happens though we have to ensure that if they are not fully focused then we are and we capitalise on any loss of focus shown.
