Montero Not Worried By Winless Form

Jefferson Montero tore Chelsea apart on the opening day of the season and attracted some strong reviews from fans and media alike as there were wild predictions of just how far the Swans could go this season.

His strong form continued against Newcastle but since then it has not been as spectacular as he missed a game through injury and found himself on the bench for a couple as well as Garry Monk made changes to his side.

This afternoon he has the chance to line up against Tottenham Hotspur and Swans fans will be hoping that he rediscovers some of the form that he showed in those early days and helps send the Swans into the second international break of the season on the back of a win.

The player himself though is not worried by the Swans lack of form and believes that the team will turn around the form that has seen them slip down the league table in the last month.

“We know how difficult it is going to be,” said the Ecuadorian winger. “When I arrived people said that Swansea had never won at Old Trafford in the league, but we did that in the first match last season.

“Nothing is impossible and we’ll try to do our best. I’m sure the players who are picked are going to give everything on the field on Sunday.

“I think we don’t have to worry that we’ve not won in the last few games. We’ve got great players and these periods in football just happen. Look at Chelsea, they started badly and are getting better.

“Last season something similar happened to us and we finished among the top eight in the league.

“This is just the beginning and we’re going to get better."
