Rangel Targets Stoke Win

Angel Rangel started against Tottenham Hotspur for his first league start of the season and performed admirably in the entertaining 2-2 draw which the defender described afterwards as a good point.

There had been calls in the week leading up to the game that a performance was needed from the Swans and with two changes from the team that started last week against Southampton it was a performance that we got.

The Swans can count themselves unlucky not to get the win that the performance deserved but it was against a Spurs side who played equally as well and that is why you would certainly say it was a deserved draw.

Rangel was in agreement but believes that it will only really be classed as a good point if we can come back after the international break and beat Stoke which is our next league game in two weeks time.

“It was a difficult game, but I think our performance was up there. Maybe not our best in terms of passing and keeping the ball, but we worked hard and competed well.," said Rangel.

“They are top six side with so many great players, but it could have gone either way.

“After the last few results, I think the most important thing was to respond and show our fans that we wanted to win the game.

“Unfortunately it was just a point, but it’s something we will build on.

“The next game is vital for us. If we can three points against Stoke, this point will have been a good point.”
