Fabianski Not Happy With Tottenham Goals

Lukasz Fabianski came under some strong criticism for his goalkeeping as he let in two Christian Eriksen free kicks against Spurs on Sunday as the Swans twice let slip a one goal advantage in a 2-2 draw.

Fabianski was beaten by direct free kicks in each half and it led to some stinging criticism from both Alan Shearer and Ian Wright who were both critical of the wall put there by Fabianski and that he should have learned from the first one.

It was hard criticism for a goalkeeper who has been outstanding since he signed from Arsenal at the start of last season but Fabianski was not defending his performance and was clearly disappointed at the two goals that got past him.

"I should have done better, especially with the first goal" he told Wales Online

“I’m not happy with that at all and that gave an opportunity for Spurs to come back into the game.

“I took a step to try and anticipate it, but that shouldn’t be my excuse.

“I didn’t see the ball exactly, the flight of the ball - Harry Kane and one of my defenders were in font of me and I just didn’t see it — but it wasn’t like it went over the wall, it went straight more or less.

“I didn’t see the moment of the shot, I just lost my head for a couple of seconds because I was trying to anticipate the shot."
