The Best In The Premier League
Wednesday, 4th Nov 2015 08:01 by Planet Swans (follow us on Twitter @swansnews)

It has often been said when it comes to awards ceremonies that if you are a player the award you really want to win is the one that is voted for by your peers and I cannot imagine that that would be any different for a CEO/Chairman of an organisation.

Huw Jenkins has been nominated for the CEO of the year award at the Football Business Awards having been selected as the best in the Premier League by his peers.

Jenkins, who was awarded an OBE in the summer, has been at the helm of the Swans since they were in League Two and has not just steered them through the divisions, with the help of his board members, but he has done so without placing the club into huge amounts of debt in the process.

The Swans are currently in their fifth season in the Premier League and have also picked up a first major trophy during that time as well as moved from the Vetch to the Liberty Stadium.

It is a story that has been well publicised but has certainly not gone unnoticed by our peers either and Huw will face up with a shortlist that contains Jez Moxey (Wolverhampton Wanderers), Bob Symns (Peterborough United), Jason McGill (York City) and Peter Lawwell (Celtic)

The winner will be announced at a ceremony to be held at Chelsea on Thursday night.

The Swans also have two nominations of their own - Best Club Marketing Initiative for this season's kit launch and Best Marketing of a Football Club for a polished CRM system.
