It's Just Words Now That Have No Meaning?

It is now just one win in ten for the Swans and yet again the draw against Bournemouth came on an afternoon where the performance was not of the standard that we have come to expect nor what we have been promised.

Several times over the past few weeks we have heard noises from the players about how they need to work hard and produce the results that they are capable of. However, each time it has been followed by a performance where the fight looks to be missing.

Misplaced passes, shying out of tackles and a pedestrian approach is frustrating to watch but that was where we were again today despite coming back from two goals down to take a point from the game.

That point was given to us by Jonjo Shelvey's penalty which was added to Andre Ayew's backheel to earn the Swans the point.

“I don’t think we had our best game,” admitted Shelvey. “We were not at our fluid best today, but to come back from two goals down in the Premier League shows character.

“To take a point when we were two goals down, with the pressure we are under, shows the character and spirit we have in the side.

“We are not confident enough on the ball at the moment, and we need to be braver when in possession, but it is down to us as senior players in the squad to get us through this tough spell.

“Hopefully today turns out to be a good point. You have to give credit to Bournemouth for their performance too - they are a good passing side.

“We just need to continue working hard at what we believe in.”
