Monk - Results Are Not Acceptable

Garry Monk was starting to sound like a completely beaten man after watching his side surrender meekly against Leicester at the Liberty to fail to win yet again.

It is more than three months since the Swans experienced a win at home and today there was never any chance of a win after we gifted Leicester a head start and never ever looked like pulling it back.

A complete lack of effort from most of the players summed up where it is all going wrong at the moment and for once Garry was not trying to defend the performance but it starting to look unlikely that he will get any chances to put it right with the Chairman's finger surely hovering over the sack button.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Monk said "We were extremely poor today, especially the first half.

"The results we are getting are not acceptable, what we are giving now is not what it should be and the fans are not getting what they deserve.

"We can debate the first two goals but it is not about that, it is about the principles that we set as a club and as a team but we are not doing it.

"I have lived how we play for the last 12 years and we got a good reaction against Liverpool and we worked well in the week and then we get that kind of performance.

"it is very frustrating for me, the players and the fans. The results are not good enough it is important for the players to fight through this as they are the only ones that can.

"I cannot control speculation on my position and results are not good enough. We need to fight every single moment and we haven't done it good enough.

"I will do everything I can to put the club where it should be. I believe I can do it.

"I felt last week we got somewhere but we put in a first half display like that which is strange and I have to look at it, understand it and convey it to the players."
