Curtis' Manchester United Reaction

Caretaker manager Alan Curtis saw his side beaten at Old Trafford this afternoon making it five points from his five games in hand and leaving them just outside of the relegation zone at the end of play.

Curtis could have been forgiven for thinking that the Swans were heading for another win over their illustrious opponents when Gylfi Sigurdsson headed in the equaliser but a nice touch from Wayne Rooney and two close efforts at the end that weren't to be ensured that there was to be no fourth successive win over Louis Van Gaal's side.

And speaking after the game, Curtis looked back over what could have been “When you equaliser that late in the game, you hope that you can hang on

“But unfortunately it wasn’t to be today.

“I thought we played better after United scored so early in the second half and we went for it a little bit when we made the changes and I thought we caused them problems. We started with the diamond and then changed it towards the end.

“Gylfi has got the ability to create and score goals and he is important to how we play. You can see his quality and he will be very important to us in the second half of this season.

“Of course it has to be about results in our situation but the performances have been good.”
