He Doesn't Really Have A Future Does He?

Jonjo Shelvey is being heavily linked with both Crystal Palace and Newcastle United moves this transfer window and it was a big sign that was sent out today when he was left out of the squad that travelled to Manchester for the game against Manchester United.

And despite the protestations from caretaker manager Alan Curtis that he has a future at Swansea it is difficult to see anything other than a move away in the transfer window especially after his display at Crystal Palace on Bank Holiday Monday.

It will complete a full circle position for Shelvey who looked to be on his way out this time last year after some stinging words from Garry Monk but he turned his form around and earned himself an England call this season putting himself in contention for a place in Euro 2016.

But since that first call up it has not really worked for Shelvey and his performances have not reached the standards that we grew to expect in the second half of last season and the early part of this one.

That surely must mean that there is a move away coming in January which should give the Swans some badly needed funds to strengthen the squad as we fight against relegation.

Curtis said "It was purely selection. He played last Monday and for his standards he was a little bit disappointing. It was pure choice and I do hope he's part of things going forward.

"We had a good talk about it beforehand and he trained with the rest of the lads and then stayed behind. Despite leaving him behind we do need him because he has terrific ability and he will play a huge part in a big end of season for us
