Gomis On His Way?
Sunday, 17th Jan 2016 11:21 by Planet Swans (follow us on Twitter @Swansnews)

Swansea to Newcastle United could happen for the second time in this transfer window if newspaper reports are to be believed although it seems more likely that striker Bafetimbi Gomis leaves for a move abroad rather than one of our relegation rivals.

Jonjo Shelvey made the trip to the North East this week when he completed a £12m deal to move to Newcastle after two and a half years at Swansea.

And today's Sun reports that Toon boss Steve McLaren is interested in adding Gomis to his squad and is preparing a £7m bid for the striker.

However, it looks more likely that Gomis is set for a move to the MIddle East where Qatar side Lekhwiya seem to be ahead of Al-Ahli in Dubai for the Frenchman's signature.

Gomis has struggled in the Swans side since the end of August after he grabbed four in the opening four games of the season and it looks like the Swans are set to cut their losses on the player as they look for the goals that we hope will retain Premier League status for next season.

He has been left out of the side more often than not in recent weeks and despite goals at Manchester City and Oxford his time here does not look as if it has much longer to run
