Frankie: It Was The Right Result
Sunday, 15th May 2016 20:04 by Planet Swans (follow us on Twitter @swansnews)

The Swans draw with Manchester City was described as "the right result" by the Swans boss Francesco Guidolin who had earned himself a new contract in midweek and also heard the home crowd chanting his name.

Guidolin bought down the curtain on the Swans season with a 28th point in his 17 games in charge and he must now be looking forward to a summer where he can construct and work with his squad ahead of the Swans sixth season in the Premier League.

Andre Ayew's deflected free kick was enough to earn the Swans the point in the game and whilst both sides went in front of the winner there was little to choose between the two teams who ended the season separated by just 8 places in the league.

Guidolin took his side into the last six games of the season with some suggestions that he would not pick up any points but the Swans can look back on those six games having won 10 points - all against sides that ended the season in the top half of the table to give us optimism for next season and the challenges that it will bring

What the boss said...

"Last Saturday was a surprise for me to hear the fans signing my name at West Ham - today, it was another one. This is important and I'm happy to hear it but my players deserve this atmosphere as they work very hard in this period and they played well in the last period.

"It was a very good game for us against a big team

"I think Manchester City are the best squad in the Premier League and we played very well. It was a good match with the right result.

"At the end it was a very, very nice moment with our fans. It was fantastic."
